The Holiday Craziness is Almost Here!

Thanksgiving is almost here and all the craziness of the season is beginning. Last night on the news people were camping out at Best Buy for a chance to be the first in at midnight Thursday. What dows this say about us as a culture. Is this just another race to the bottom? I'm not sure, but it is fun to watch (from a safe distance). Ho Ho Ho and may the merriment bring you the best in all this wonderful season can bring. Just try not to get run over by the crowd.

Route 66 Road Trip

I'll soon be heading out on the old route. My neice is getting married in Grand Junction, Colorado, so I thought this would be a great time to plan another trip down Old Route 66. Sure, I could just head west from Chicago toward Denver, that would be the most direct way, but then what is the fun in that. Instead I will head southwest out of Chicago, go though Saint Looey, Joplin, Missouri, and Oklahoma City is mighty pretty. I'll see Amarillo, Gallup, New Mexico, deviating from the song I'll head into Alburquerque, ending my push west. I'll then head north following the original alignment of Route 66 that went through Santa Fe. Then it's off the old road and on to Denver. My goal is to post whatever and whenever I can while on the road. I'm even going to try my hand at doing some video and posting it here, if the opportunity and subject matter cooperate.
